Short answer: Enveo National & Worldwide Movers Inc. is a Calgary-based mover that handles long-distance moves from Calgary to anywhere in Canada, and into Calgary from other provinces. Our own crew packs and loads in Calgary, and partner movers handle the other end. Long-distance moves are priced by the space your home takes on the truck plus the labour to load and unload it. For example, a recent full-home move across Canada in a 53 ft truck came to CA$17,834 including GST, with unloading, unpacking and a vehicle included. Your price depends on your volume, distance, labour and any extra services. Enveo is rated 5.0 stars from 96 Google reviews.
This guide covers what a move out of Calgary costs, how long the main routes take, how to choose a long-distance mover, and how to avoid the mistakes that make these moves go wrong.

A real quote, line by line
This is a real Enveo estimate for a full home moving across Canada in a 53 ft truck. It’s an example, not a price list: your quote depends on your volume, distance, labour and the services you add. Every long-distance move out of Calgary is quoted the same way, line by line, and final charges are based on the actual space your goods take on the truck.
| Line | Amount (CAD) |
|---|---|
| Five professional movers ($300/hr × 5) | $1,500 |
| Professional loading | $600 |
| Packing materials | $0 (customer packed) |
| Transportation: 53 ft truck of space | $12,885 |
| Vehicle loading and unloading | $500 |
| Unloading into the new home | Included |
| Unpacking service | $1,500 |
| Disposal of packing debris | Included |
| Subtotal | $16,985 |
| Total with 5% GST | $17,834.25 |
Three things to notice:
- Transportation is most of the bill. Labour is a small share. That’s normal for long distance, and it’s why the size of your shipment matters more than how many hours the crew works.
- Everything is on its own line. You can see exactly what you’re paying for and drop what you don’t need. Skip the unpacking and that’s $1,500 less.
- The car went on the same truck. One booking, one delivery.
What smaller moves cost across the market: a one-bedroom or a partial move takes a fraction of a 53 ft truck. Published 2026 figures for full-service movers give a sense of the range (these are market figures, not Enveo prices; your quote depends on your volume):
| Move | Market range (CAD) |
|---|---|
| Calgary → Vancouver, 2-bedroom | $3,200–$5,500 |
| Calgary → Toronto, 2-bedroom | $4,200–$6,800 |
| Across Canada, 3-bedroom | $6,000–$12,000 |

How long the main routes take
| From Calgary to | Road distance | Estimated road time on a dedicated truck |
|---|---|---|
| Saskatoon / Regina | ~620–760 km | About 1 day |
| Vancouver / Lower Mainland | ~970 km | 1–2 days (mountain passes) |
| Winnipeg | ~1,330 km | About 2 days |
| Toronto / GTA | ~3,400 km | 4–5 days |
| Ottawa / Montreal | ~3,500–3,700 km | About 5 days |
| Halifax | ~4,900 km | 6–7 days |
These are estimates. Actual timing depends on weather, scheduling and transportation conditions.
How we worked these out: federal hours-of-service rules allow a truck driver up to 13 hours of driving a day, but in practice drivers cover 8–10 hours, roughly 650–850 km a day on the highway. Add a loading day at the start and a delivery day at the end. Shared (consolidated) loads, where one truck carries several customers’ goods, take longer because of the extra stops. Winter weather slows Prairie and mountain routes.
Dedicated vs shared truck: a dedicated truck drives straight from your old home to your new one. A shared truck delivers in a window. Shared costs less; dedicated is faster and more predictable. Ask any mover which one your quote is for.
Your options for a long-distance move from Calgary
There’s no single best long-distance mover in Calgary. There’s a best fit for your move. These are the main types of service, and who each one suits:
| Option | How it works | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| National van-line agents | A local company that’s part of a big national network | Large homes, people who want a household name | Usually the highest price; your move may pass between agents |
| Regional long-distance movers | Their own trucks on set routes, such as Calgary–Vancouver or Calgary–Toronto | Popular routes | Less flexible off their main routes |
| Self-pack containers or trailers | They drop a container, you load it, they drive it | Lowest price, flexible dates, people who can do the lifting | You do all the packing, loading and stairs |
| Freight or pallet shipping | Your boxes go on a pallet, dock to dock | A few boxes and small items | Usually no pickup from your home or delivery inside it |
| Enveo National & Worldwide Movers | Our crew in Calgary, partner movers at the other end, one point of contact | Full or partial homes, moves that also include a car, short-notice moves, and anyone who may move to the US or overseas later | Calgary-based: moves that start and end outside Alberta use partner crews at both ends |
What makes Enveo different from most Calgary movers: one company handles long-distance moves across Canada, cross-border moves to the US and international moves by sea, with itemized quotes, same-day and next-day pickups with no rush fee, and your car on the same truck. One company. One point of contact. Multiple solutions. A more convenient moving experience.
Moving out of Calgary: what to plan for
Winter moves to BC go through the mountains. The Trans-Canada Highway through Rogers Pass, between Golden and Revelstoke, closes for avalanche control in winter. Parks Canada says closures add up to about 100 hours a year, most last 4 to 8 hours, and traffic is held in Golden and Revelstoke until the road reopens. Leave a buffer day in winter and check DriveBC before you travel.
BC has winter tire and chain rules. From October 1 to April 30 (March 31 on some lower highways), most BC highways require winter tires on cars and chains carried on commercial trucks. If you’re driving your own car to BC in that window, check your tires have the mountain-snowflake or M+S symbol. If you’d rather not drive it, we can put the car on the truck.
Book the elevator at both ends. Most Calgary condo buildings, and most in Vancouver and Toronto, ask you to book the elevator or loading dock for moving day. Book both as soon as you have dates, and send us the booking times.
Pick your month. Summer is peak moving season and the busiest time for every mover. If your dates are flexible, autumn and spring usually give you more choice of dates.
Update your licence after you arrive. Moving provinces means a new driver’s licence and vehicle registration. In BC, new residents have 90 days to switch.
How to choose a long-distance mover in Calgary
Long-distance moving is where the bad stories come from: a low quote that triples on delivery day, goods held until you pay more, a delivery date that slips by weeks. Here’s how to avoid that, whoever you hire.
1. Get a survey, not a phone quote. A mover who quotes a full home without seeing it, in person or on video, is guessing. Guesses get corrected on delivery day, upward.
2. Ask what’s on each line. A real estimate shows transportation, labour, packing and extras separately. “One price, everything included” with no breakdown makes it hard to compare and easy to add to later.
3. Ask who’s doing the work at each end. Most long-distance moves involve more than one crew. Ask who loads, who drives, who unloads, and who’s responsible if something goes wrong. At Enveo, our crew handles Calgary and our partner movers handle the other city, and we stay your single point of contact from booking to delivery.
4. Ask how the price can change. Volume-based prices can change if you ship more than was surveyed. Ask how that’s measured and when you’ll find out. You should hear about any change before your goods are delivered, not at the door. At Enveo, final charges are based on the actual space your goods take, and we tell you before delivery.
5. Ask about coverage in writing. Standard mover liability is low everywhere in the industry. Know what you’re covered for before you sign (ours is below).
6. Read the reviews from people who moved your distance. A mover can be great at three-hour local jobs and new to cross-country moves. Look for reviews that mention another province.
“Furnitures, lots of household items, and a car — moving from one province to another definitely felt less stressful with these guys.” Trish Sancho, Google review
Ways to bring the price down
- Ship less. Long-distance price follows volume. Sell or donate what’s cheap to replace: flat-pack furniture, old mattresses, basic kitchenware.
- Pack yourself. Packing service is optional. Most of the cost saving on a long-distance move is in doing your own boxes.
- Take furniture apart. Bed frames, table legs and shelving take far less space flat.
- Be flexible on dates. A flexible pickup window usually costs less than a fixed date. Off-peak months cost less than summer.
- Book early. About 60% of our customers book 2–3 months ahead, which gives the widest choice of dates.
How a long-distance move works with Enveo
- Survey. In person in Calgary (15–20 minutes) or a 30-minute video call.
- Estimate. Every line written out, like the quote above.
- Book. A deposit of 30% of your estimate or CA$800, whichever is higher, secures your moving date. It’s applied toward your total. The deposit is non-refundable.
- Inventory. We send you a simple inventory list to fill in. No customs paperwork within Canada.
- Moving day. Our crew (in Calgary) or partner movers (elsewhere) pack if you’ve added packing, then load.
- Transit. Your goods travel to your new city.
- Delivery. Unloaded into your new home, and unpacked if you’ve added unpacking.
Your final bill is settled before delivery.
Coverage
Enveo carries general liability insurance. For more protection, you can add Total Loss Coverage through our insurance provider. We explain the coverage options when we quote, and the full terms, limits, exclusions and deductibles are disclosed before you book. It’s also worth checking whether your home or tenant insurance covers belongings in transit.
